Brighton Shellfish & Oyster Bar

The Brighton Shellfish & Oyster Bar is probably the oldest takeaway shellfish bar in Brighton. The bar began life some 35 plus years ago with a table on the beach, then a gazebo was added (unless the wind blew it away), until finally it moved into its current site on the beach in Brighton’s historic Fishing Quarter, which is where you will still find us today.

What Do We Sell?

At the Brighton Shellfish and Oyster Bar, we strive to maintain high standards at all times. Gone are days of just cockles, whelks, mussels and prawns. This is the 21st Century. Our shellfish and oyster bar offers in excess of 20 different items from cockles to octopus to fresh oysters.

As well as the finest shellfish and oysters, why not try our range of homemade sauces, and if you’ve not got the time to eat straight away, we will pack the shellfish for you to ‘take home’, with our FREE ice packs included.

Welcome

As times have changed, so have we, with full refrigeration and uniforms for the staff. Some things however remain the same; a wide range of different shellfish and plenty of smiles all round. We hold the 5 star Award from Brighton and Hove city council for food hygiene and cleanliness and are well reported on Trip Advisor.

You will find us at The Fishing quarter on the beach. Just look over the top from The Old Ship hotel. We are the shellfish bar flying the Union Jack flags (showing you we are open).
